This book is believable. These same conflicts do happen with some families. One of the children, like Kate, gets most of the attention. Maybe it’s not because they’re dying, but there is something that makes that parents more attracted to that child. There’s usually a child like Jessie who is practically shunned by his parents, and that leads to him getting into drugs and setting fires. Then there is Anna. She really only gets attention whe she's having a transplant done for Kate. Most of the time one of the parents will side with one child that isn't getting as much attention as maybe they should be. Like when Anna's dad sides with because he thinks she's old enough to take responsibility of her own body, even thought it might hurt his other daughter. One thing that I really liked about this story was that Jodi Picoult told it from each person's point of view, so you got to see everyone's take on the situation going on. My favorite part was the ending because you would never expect that to happen.
